Our Mission
The Antiochian Orthodox church is not a large organisation in Australia. The majority of its members are immigrants - or children of immigrants - from the middle-east. While the community is not large it is growing and recently it became clear that the two main churches in Melbourne (St. Nicholas’ and St. George’s) were not going to be able to adequately cater for the needs of the whole community.
In light of this fact, His Emminence Metropolitan Paul decided that new churches needed to be founded in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. St. Paul’s was the first of these new churches and has steadily grown since it’s foundation.
The church’s goals are to:
- Provide a religious & cultural centre for the community in the South East of Melbourne;
- Grow the Antiochian Orthodox Church in Melbourne;
- Provide community services to immigrants, the elderly and all the Arabic speaking community.;
- Impart the traditions, values & beliefs of our ancient and beautiful faith to the next generation;
- To further the kingdom of God and to do His work in this world.
